GETTING TESTED FOR HIV

POSITIVE or NEGATIVE?

I recently went and paid a visit to a clinic to get my third HIV test. The last time I got one was about 2 years ago and although I don't practice unsafe sex regularly I still felt the need to get an update on it. I went to a local clinic that does cater to the LGBT community and it was probably the most interesting and even enjoyable experience I've had getting tested for HIV.

Not only was it quick and painless(test is done with a swab inside your mouth) but the workers there were beyond friendly and personable. They talked to me about my past sexual experiences and also gave advice for future with things just as lube and how to go about dealing with someone who hasn't gotten tested yet.

I think there are a lot of people out there who are worried or scared to go and get tested but from my experiences they are usually pretty quick and harmless. It is important we all remember to get tested regularly, especially if there has been unsafe sex. HIV can take up to 6 months to actually be spotted after being infected. Most cities also have local clinics that do offer FREE HIV tests for those that are concerned with the price of the tests. Other STD tests do have a price but there are also programs that can offer FREE STD tests depending on income. As you all know HIV isn't the only thing we have to be worried about to make sure to schedule an STD test also.

album review: new David Guetta album

Make them DANCE to this...

I am honestly not really a fan of "dance" music and was still unsure about songs like "When Love Takes Over" from David Guetta with Kelly Rowland. I still had the curiosity to listen to his album. I was pleasantly surprised. Guetta doesn't give you an hour of the same boring beats over and over again. He manages to cleverly mix the dance sound with different styles and genres all to make a cohesive album that still has a song that just about everyone can enjoy.

The stand outs for me are Sexy Bitch(w/Akon), I can already hear the clubs playing this song. From gay clubs to even some urban/hiphop spots. It's perfect and meant for that crazy drive you have with friends where you blast music on the way to the club. Memories(w/ Kid Cudi), Choose(w/ Neyo/Kelly Rowland) are also faves of mine. The top track on this album for me would have to be Toy Friend(w/ Wynter Gordan) the singers vocals give an Arabic feeling but the beat is pure pop. Something we might hear from M.I.A. Definitely work checking out!
